The balance of teacher-generated as opposed to student-generated instruction is worthy of reflection for all teachers. As you read the article, pay attention to each facet of instruction. Note that student-generated does not mean exclude the teacher (the educational expertise of the teacher is too important to relegate out of the process); rather, teachers are involved at all levels, but the learners do take on greater amounts of responsibility at each level.
